Meet the botanicals: amla, hibiscus and neem

By OVEDAA Team · 5 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

Many of the ingredients in our blends have been part of Indian households for generations. Here is a short introduction to three of them. This is general background, not a statement about what any OVEDAA product will do for you.

Amla (Indian gooseberry)

A small, tart green fruit that appears throughout traditional Ayurvedic practice. It is commonly used dried and powdered, or infused in oils.

Hibiscus

The bright red flower is traditionally used in home hair rituals, often as petals or leaves ground into a paste or steeped in oil.

Neem

A tree native to the Indian subcontinent. Its leaves have long been used in household care and are often dried and powdered.

Good to know · Plants can cause reactions in some people. Check the ingredient list on each product and patch test first.
